Synopsis of the Breakfast Talk: As we enter the era of Industrial 4.0, organizations and operations leaders are starting to realize the huge benefits of IoT (Internet of Things) while being confronted with a world where data is increasingly infused into every aspect of business, forward looking companies are now investing in data like never before. The disruptive technologies of sensing devices, robotic automation, internet connectivity, cloud computing have enabled the realization of smart factory and the hidden value of big data.

The speaker has close to 30 years of manufacturing operations experience in a broad range of businesses and production from manual assembly to high tech wafer fabrication; He has also led a few start-ups
building to an operations excellence state. As Vietnam is attracting huge manufacturing investment, the speaker will share his experience on how a new manufacturing entrant could engage in the current industrial revolution setting the foundation for its’ long-term competitiveness. With his passion in technology and operations excellence, he will share how companies adapt to the convergence of operational technology (OT), information technology (IT) and leveraging the IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) in achieving operations excellence for the company.
Breakfast Facilitator: Mr S.S. Tey from Singapore

SS Tey is currently heading the operations for Littelfuse Asia, stationed in Suzhou, China. With close to 30 years of engineering and operations experience with AMD, Phillips, Fairchild and Littelfuse, SS had vast experience managing the various phases of life cycle of a company and product with manufacturing in Singapore, China, Philippines and Japan. One of his notable successes is leading the Lean Transformation of Littelfuse where his Asian factories were awarded the North America Association of Manufacturing Excellence Award, Littelfuse is the first company outside North America receiving this award.
In addition to his operations experience, SS is also actively engaged in the development of institution of higher learning, and has been speaker of events like Manufacturing Conference organized by AmCham Shanghai. He currently sits on the Technical Advisory Board of Xi’an Jiatong-Liverpool University and is a board member of Suzhou Industrial Park Institute of Vocational Technology.
